This document will provide you with answers to a list of Frequently Asked Questions concerning tier. If you need more information after reading through this document, please check at the bottom.

Q : Which sims are yours? Did I buy land on your sim?
A : For the time being the following sims are part of the virtualSecond Estate :

SoulManager (teleport)

Q : I have purchased land on a virtualSecond Sim, what do I do now?
A : Send us a mail at tier@virtualsecond.com and provide us with this information :

your Second Life name (required)
secondary e-mail address where we can reach you (optional)
the transaction ID of the land purchase (optional) [you can find that in your transaction history on the SL website]

Then head over to the designated tier box on the sim and pay your monthly tier within 24 hours after your purchase.

Q : I have purchased the land, but I want someone else to pay the tier. Can I do that?
A : You, as land owner, are responsible for tier payments. If you want someone else to pay tier for you, we suggest you have them pay you, and you pay us. Having someone else pay us and then send us a mail that they paid for you may work out in the end but would complicate matters to no extend and could result in land being reclaimed if we can't match up the payment with the tier due.

Q : I have purchased land on your sim, but I don't want to pay you more money. Why do you ask for more money from me?
A : You really should have read the covenant before you made the purchase. Private sims expensive are to run and you didn't think Linden Lab® just gave those for free, did you? You are saving yourself at least USD9,95 a month (about L$2,666) - the price Linden Lab® charges for a premium account - which you would need just to be able to buy land on mainland. You don't need to have a premium account to own land on our sims. Our sims also come with the following benefits :

quicker response time in case of abuse (have you ever tried filing a AR with LL?)
dedicated team to answer your questions
sim owners promote and advertise, which drives traffic to the sims (good for business)
known griefers can be banned sim wide
covenants guarantee a consistent look - no eyesores
cutters and adfarms can't devaluate your land and investment
mainland sims are like the Wild Wild West - no rules, little maintenance and oversight

Q : I have just bought my land on the 10th and I still have to pay for a full month of tier? That's not reasonable!
A : You probably didn't read the covenant or skipped the important parts. You are always required to pay a full month of tier within 24 hours after purchase. The second month you will only have to pay a prorated amount, which will take into account the days not used from the first month. Check your mailbox, if you have sent us a mail - as you should have - our staff may have replied already with your prorated amount due on the 15th of the month.
